Well, let’s get that cheap slur out of the way. When an artist has self-penned all the tracks on an LP, I think that alone suggests it’s worthy of standing on it’s own two feet. Hopefully that’s the end of any comparison.

I think the song titles, the cover and general ‘theme’ of the tracks on here showcase the influences of this recording. The dreamy, floating nature of the music underpinned by Spanish guitars, mandolins and glockenspiels offer up a LP which drifts across the airwaves and showcases the lyrics very well.

The standout track for me is ‘Night of the Hunter’s Moon’ with much of the LP offering up a collection of songs which stay in the centre lane. It is very much her offering and I’m guessing, much like her brother, when most of the instruments are in your own hands, that fulfils the intention.
