Anyone under the age of 40 will struggle with this, unless of course your parents are still wandering around the house wearing purple bell bottoms. Literary experts greater than I would have to search their souls to explain the concept of a concept LP. What the f..…Why…? Really…? I am not sure why record executives fell for it?

Obviously with lyrics along the lines of ‘I asked the glow-worm how it would be if he light the way for me, oh no he said you’ll step on my head’ at the opening to side 2 had the record execs spinning in their chairs unable to contain their rigid excitement as to what the rest of the side was to bring.

This gives you an LP in excellent condition, an intact colourful lyric sheet (containing more gems like those above), an inner vertigo sleeve (a classic) and a perfect LP cover. It gives you dreamy, drifting music which captured an age back in the early 70’s. What it won’t give you is a reason to resurrect the concept LP as the new club anthem.
